This program will focus on patient-specific abutments and the simplicity and reliability they bring to the restorative process while allowing for functional and esthetic results for each individual patient. Using the most advanced computer technology, patient-specific abutments are available for all major implant systems and are designed and manufactured to the clinician’s specifications. The benefits of providing an anatomically correct abutment earlier in the healing cycle will be discussed. A review of the coordination and communication between the lab, surgeon and restorative colleague to achieve exceptional results will also be provided.
Upon completion of this program participants will be able to:

Distinguish the advantages and disadvantages of utilizing different abutment systems
Learn the easiest and most innovative way to restore implants via a CAD/CAM custom abutment system

About the speakers
Gary Burton, CDT, graduated from T.S.T.C. Waco in 1981 with a degree in Science. He has worked with dental implants since 1981 and served as the technical advisor for Calcitek for eight years. Mr. Burton joined the company in 2000 and is currently a technical advisor for Dentsply Sirona Implants. He is responsible for employee training, product development, problem solving, and case design. He also assists doctors and labs with difficult cases and lectures throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico, as well as for organized Continuing Education courses for many dental associations and study groups.
Wayne Burrell, CDT, has been with Gibson Dental Designs since 1987. He began his career in 1981, and worked as a partner in a small dental lab under the guidance and tutelage of an experienced dentist in both crown and bridge, as well as production and design. Wayne serves as the lab manager for all things porcelain, and will present an implant case work flow from start to finish in the lab.
